One rucksack, four days – Bear Grylls comes to Dartmoor!

News
Bear Grylls comes to Dartmoor for four days in the name of charity and this week a team of twelve talented individuals will be taking on the challenge for their chosen charity. A team of 12 men and women will be working together to survive with no food, water, beds or electricity all in the name of charity.
This is a challenging Commando Survival event taking place on Dartmoor in Devon which is one of the most hostile environments within the UK…
“It is likely you will experience four seasons in just one day and this alone can make survival very difficult. Self-defence, self-preservation, primal instinct training, you will learn how to forage for food and identify what can be eaten in the wild, purify and filter dirty river water, skin, gut and prepare a range of wild food. You are dropped off and left alone on the moor to survive. Survive to fight, don’t fight to survive as the military say”.
Gemma Lighting will be represented in this challenge by our leader and passionate Managing Director Craig Manuel, who will be taking on this challenge for Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association.
“It is going to be a challenge with a rewarding end. The four days with no food, water and of course Wi-Fi are going to be tough but to come back at the end of it having raised money for the amazing charity is the result I am focusing on- wish me luck!!” Craig Manual (Managing Director).
On behalf of us all here at Gemma Lighting we would like to wish Craig all the best with his challenge and we look forward to hearing all about it on his return. If you would like to show your support for our Managing Director please visit the Virgin Giving Page.
